It’s that time of year again, Eco Wrappers! The decorations are out and the meal planning is happening- and yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The holidays are a favourite for the EFW Household and we wanted to pass on a little of the celebratory vibe to you so you can make take a few more steps towards a greener Christmas- and a more ecologically-sound lifestyle overall.
There are so many small things you can do to make your Christmas a greener one- try your hand at making your own wrap and gift tags by recycling newspaper, butcher paper and old maps or manuscripts. You can even use eco food wraps as gift wrap for a truly sustainable gift wrap that can be used again and again!
This is a great time to introduce loved ones to a new way of approaching their own waste. The move to a more sustainable existence is growing rapidly everyday; you need only look at the way attitudes, programming, even advertising and packaging for big businesses are changing to reflect this push. Craig Rucassell’s compelling War on Waste series is set to return to keep us all accountable to the changes we introduced back in mid 2017 and you can now find soft-recycling plastic bins at all major supermarkets, as well as the current bags being replaced with eco-bags that are biodegradable, and bags being banned altogether by next year. It seems the petitioning, sharing, raising awareness and living by example is working, Eco Wrappers! Keep it up! What better way to introduce your loved ones to the lifestyle than telling them they never need to use cling wrap again- that you can provide a reusable, chemical-and-cruelty-free alternative that is handmade from sustainable ingredients and processes from raw to finished product?
We’ve mentioned previously that the reason for all that we do is, of course, our beautiful children. The reason we love the holidays is all due to them- the wonder on their faces, the chance to explore and discover new things every day, the childlike simplicity that sees them turn everything into a game. With this in mind, we thought we’d go a bit “Childhood-Christmas” on you with the Eco Food Wrap 2017 Advent Calendar.
You remember Advent Calendars- perhaps you still use them. You open a door in the days leading to Christmas and each day you get a surprise to build up the excitement for the big day Santa comes knocking! We have a few special extras in the next few weeks leading up to a few bigger surprises as the holidays come to a close (we’d love to tell you, but you’ll just have to follow us on Facebook for the big reveal!)
Starting tomorrow, Friday, December 1st, 2017 and each subsequent Friday after that, we will reveal that week’s advent calendar surprise- a coupon code that can be used for any and all orders in that week’s period that gives you something a little extra with your order. Our first week special is limited to the first 15 orders only. Simply enter the coupon code ECOADVENT1 as it appears (yes, our coupon codes are case sensitive!) to receive a FREE reusable stainless steel straw and cleaning brush pack with any order!
Click here to follow us on Facebook, we will announce next week’s special on Friday, December 8th, 2017 and each week leading up to the holidays!
We hope you enjoy these extra eco-surprises to help you on the way to living a more sustainable lifestyle. The coupon code is effective from the start of that date so you have 7 days for each special before it changes! Mark those planners, and make sure you don’t miss out!
Happy holidays, Eco Wrappers!!
