It has been quite a year for Eco Food Wrap! As we’ve covered in previous blogs; Elishah started out making Eco Food Wraps as a hobby- a way to make a conscious effort to reduce our own waste in our off-grid home that grew into making gifts for family and friends, to a market stall, to the business it is today. It’s been amazing watching the message spread far and wide that we need to change how we consume on our planet- not just via Eco Food Wrap and our social media channels, but through community initiatives (like Take 3 for the sea’s ocean clean-up program), petitions (such as #banthebag) and monthly challenges (like #plasticfreejuly). We are so grateful to be living and working to make a positive step forward for our planet and we couldn’t have done any of it without you, Eco Wrappers!
We wanted to take a moment in this week’s blog to welcome a few new members to the Eco Food Wrap family by way of our wonderful stockists; other small businesses that share our ethos of conscious ecologically-sound choices for our daily lives, and that support living more sustainably via the products they stock and represent.
Central Coast NSW
Riatta, situated in Erina on the NSW Central Coast have been a long-time stockist of Eco Food Wrap, and it’s not just plastic-wrap alternatives they stock. You can shop there knowing that you are supporting a business that believes in 100% safe, natural, toxin-free products, with categories covering certified organic, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, Australian made, New Zealand made and fair trade products in their catalogue.

They also manage a really informative Blog on their website where they regularly test new products, look at DIY and waste-free ideas for the home and support local initiatives and challenges (their banning plastic bag blog was a really motivational read for us and they’ve even featured our own Eco Food Wraps on their page!) If you’re a Central Coast Resident and can’t wait for the monthly markets we appear at (Avoca Beachside Market & Umina Beach markets) then you can find us on their shelves!
Also on the Central Coast is Eyes by Design at Kincumber Village; The practice of Behavioural Optometrist Dr Nicholas Altuneg and his partner Angela Altuneg who is the practice manager. They are a family run and child-friendly business that displays a great passion for helping children- especially in more difficult cases including learning difficulties. Dr Altuneg is committed to helping all children reach their full potential and has worked with cases ranging from Autism and Asperger’s to hyperactivity, extremely gifted children, intellectually disabled children, partially sighted and many more.
They believe in the sustainable lifestyle and wanted to stock Eco Food Wrap in their store to show their support for locally run, eco-business and the move towards a more plastic-free society. As we ourselves are motivated by our children and providing a good future fro them, we thought this was a great fit for Eco Food Wrap, and an opportunity for more families to embrace the sustainable lifestyle that is being adopted worldwide at the moment. As Central Coast schools operate #wastefreewednesday, it’s also a great place for parents to make sure their kids aren’t accidentally going to school with sandwich bags because Mum or Dad had a crazy Tuesday at
